Univé Dog Insurance
With the “Top” package, your pet is also covered for hip and elbow conditions. With the “Basic” package, it is not possible to cover your pet for spaying and neutering, nor against various therapies. Therefore, the most frequently chosen package is also the “Plus” package. The additional options with these packages are:

You can get a premium for your dog insurance starting at €15.96 and a premium for your cat insurance starting at €12.28.

OHRA dog insurance policies
OHRA offers the possibility to take out dog insurance for your pet. Through this insurance you can claim almost all costs at OHRA itself, this can save a lot of money on an annual basis. With cat insurance, the prices will be slightly lower than with dogs, this has to do with the weight and size of the animal. Again, you can completely put together your own premium, you choose how much you want to pay in the month.
We see with cat insurance that there are again two types of packages to choose from. Medical expenses apply to all medical operations and procedures. This does not include the vaccination and the costs for e.g. an ultrasound, as these can only be covered by the additional packages. Step 1: Go to the website
At OHRA it is possible to claim online, so you no longer have to call a helpdesk. All you need to do is have an OHRA account for the website, or you can go to the ‘claim’ section at the bottom of the home page of the site. This will take you to a follow-up page where you have to fill in the details for your claim.
Step 2: Make sure you have all the data.
There are a few things you need to keep in mind. For example, say you have a claim from a veterinarian, you need to make sure you have all the details ready when you fill it out. For example, you need to mention how many times the animal has already been treated, what work was done by the doctor and what the total price is including VAT. This is all necessary for easy claiming, without this information you will spend quite some time contacting the helpdesk.
Step 3: See if you need permission
It is also true that in some cases you need permission to claim from OHRA, this is mainly for more expensive treatments or bills. OHRA’s pet policy also includes some small print: you are officially insured only after 30 days after taking out pet insurance. However, there are some exceptions to this, for example, you are insured in case of an accident or when it comes to placing an ID chip.

You may of course be unsure whether or not a certain expense can be claimed, in these cases it is still useful to contact the helpdesk. At OHRA you can do this through the website, or of course you can call. You will be on hold for a while, but that’s how it is. When in doubt, it is always recommended, as missing a claim can cost a lot of money.

Canceling an insurance policy is always a bit of a hassle, as the insurer would prefer that you just stay with them. At OHRA, however, it is not such a hassle; you can cancel your pet insurance relatively quickly. To make things a little easier for you, here are the steps for canceling an OHRA insurance policy.
Step 1: Go to My OHRA Account
Pet insurance can be cancelled from OHRA on a daily basis after your first year. You can arrange all of this yourself through My OHRA so in the same place as when claiming a particular bill. Have you taken out a 4-year contract for your pet? Then you can only cancel the insurance after these 4 years. Please note, OHRA uses a notice period of 1 month. Keep this in mind if you know you want to cancel early.
Step 2: Tell the situation regarding the cancellation
It may be that your pet has died, this is also a valid reason to cancel your insurance at OHRA. You will need a death certificate from your doctor. Send it to OHRA at this address: OHRA, Postbus 40000, 6803 GA Arnhem. They will end the insurance from the day your pet dies, so in this case you do not have to take into account the 1 month notice period. Overpayments will of course be refunded by OHRA.
Step 3: Let us know if you change owners
If you want to change owners you will also have to pass this on to OHRA. They need proof that your pet has changed owners. This can be a waiver, a certificate of deregistration from the municipality, or a takeover certificate from the shelter.
