Why get vaccination?

So why vaccinate your cat in the first place? Is it worth the price? The answer to this question is yes, a vaccination simply ensures that your cat can grow up normally without getting sick. A small kitten is still very vulnerable, this means that a small infection or an illness can already be fatal. We assume that you want to enjoy your cat as long as possible, so in order to achieve this you have to make an investment in it from time to time. The vaccinations each serve a different disease. For example, there is a vaccination for rabies, yes this also occurs in cats. If your cat is rabid then you can forget it, by a single vaccination you can already prevent this.

Cost of vaccination

Vaccination prices vary a bit by injection, which makes sense, of course. After all, you pay more for a cocktail, as these are multiple vaccinations in one. So this does allow you to save money in the end. If we look at the general guidelines, we do notice that there is generally a regular price.

Below is an overview of the average costs:

Type of vaccination Average cost
Vaccination consultation€ 47,50
Cat disease / sneezing disease€ 27,55
Sneezing disease€ 27,55
Bordetella (nose drop)€ 42,35

So it’s not too bad, but it does cost quite a bit if you have to get vaccinations several times a year.

Getting a cat insured

You can choose to have your cat insured. The advantage of this is that you can recover the costs you incur for the vaccinations from the insurer. That way you don’t have to pay for everything. Of course, you do pay the monthly premium, but in most cases it is only a few euros a month. Would you like to find an overview of the insurers with the best cat insurance?
